Hiring Filipino workers through agencies
Under Philippine law, direct hiring of Filipino workers by foreign employers is generally prohibited — recruitment must go through a licensed agency. After choosing an agency, you submit documents to the Philippine Embassy or the DMW Accreditation Branch for authentication and accreditation.
Foreign recruitment agencies are considered employers for accreditation purposes.
Documents typically required
- Special Power of Attorney / Recruitment Agreement appointing your agency
- Manpower Request (Job Order) stating positions and number of workers
- Standard Employment Contract per worker
- Company registration / business documents
- Other documents per destination-country rules
The DMW then issues an accreditation certificate authorising your chosen agency to advertise, recruit and deploy workers on your behalf. Requirements vary by country — your agency will guide you through the exact list.
