Do's & Don'ts of an 

Interview Session

 

Greet the interviewer. Shake his/her hands before and after the interview

 

DO

·         Act natural

·         Be prompt, neat, courteous and witty

·         Ask relevant questions

·         Allow the interviewer to express himself/herself

·         Follow procedures

·         Listen attentively to the interviewer

·         Present informative credentials

·         Think of your potential service to the employer

·         Use simple language, make yourself understood

·         Smile!

 

DON’T

·         Criticize yourself

·         Criticize others

·         Be late

·         Become tense and unrelaxed

·         Present an extreme appearance

·         Become impatient or emotional

·         Talk too much or too little

·         Oversell your case

·         Make elaborate promises

·         Come unprepared

·         Foot tap and knuckle crack

·         Use your phrases such as “um”, “I don’t know”, and “like”

·         Ramble. Studies show that your answers should take 20 seconds to two minutes, rarely longer.
